2021 High Performance 1 Coaching Program

(06/01/2021 - 09/01/2021)
ONTARIO HOCKEY FEDERATION

We have all seen communication from both the Federal and Provincial governments, over the state of affairs as a result of the Coronavirus (Covid-19) Pandemic. Based on this, the 2020 HP1 clinic was cancelled.

Hockey Canada, the OHF and our Member Partners understand the ongoing demand for Coaching Education programs. Over the past year, we have Nationally done an audit of coaching programs including the High Performance 1 clinic. As we continue to have limits on indoor gatherings (including classrooms) the HP1 clinic will be rolled out a little differently.

We are investigating a variety of options with the potential of delivering all of the NCCP programming in an online format due to the restrictions.

We thank you for your interest in participating in the HP1 Clinic, further information will be shared when it is available

In the meantime, for those that require the HP1 training based on the policy, please register now. No payment is required.

Priority will be given to those coaches who will require the certification for the 2021-22 season. High Performance 1 Info The High Performance 1 Coaching Program is an enriched development experience for coaches, which features in-class sessions, a written assignment and a field evaluation. The seminar will provide an exceptional opportunity for coaches to learn as it will feature outstanding presenters who have vast experience within high performance coaching environments. Following the theory portion, coaches will further their development by completing, and receiving feedback on, a written assignment with support from a mentor. Participants will then be provided with an incredible opportunity for growth as a Hockey Canada trained evaluator will observe a practice and game and conduct interviews on the ice sessions and the coach’s overall program. Throughout the process, coaches will be provided information and tasks which will challenge them with the ultimate goal of furthering key skills including critical thinking, problem solving, interacting, valuing and leadership. The total registration fee is TBD and includes all seminar materials, course work, written assignment evaluation, mentoring, online evaluations and practical field evaluations (in the Ontario Hockey Federation Area).
